Hull FC captain Gareth Ellis has been with XBlades since 2015. He has been at the Black and Whites since 2013 after joining from with Wests Tigers in the Australian NRL.

The former Great Britain and England international back-rower, who started his career at Wakefield before moving to Leeds Rhinos and later Wests, is a five-time member of the Super League Dream Team and was also named in the International Team of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

During his three years Down Under at Wests, he was named the Tigers’ Player of the Year at the end of every season, proving himself to be one of the greatest Brits to ply their trade in the Australian competition.

He was named in Super League’s all-time best XIII in 2016 to mark the competition’s 20th birthday, putting his name among some of Rugby League’s biggest ever legends.
